| This class offers education and
networking for the consumer who want to learn and live a lifestyle
that promotes recovery and relapse prevention. Classes are free
and meet in various locations around the county. |

Family to Family Education Series |
| A 12-weekClass for family and
friends of adults with mental illnesses such as Bipolar Disorder,
Depression, Schizophrenia and others. Class is taught by a trained
family members who have experience helping a loved one cope with
their illness. Families learn coping skill, warning signs and
medication side effects. They establish a plan for coping with a
future crisis and develop a support network. |

NAMI Connection |
| Support group for adult mental
illness consumers. This group is not disorder specific. All are
welcome. Meet others who seek support and encouragement as they
successfully live with mental illness. |

Seminar. |
| Families and schools can work
together to help the emotionally disturbed or mentally ill child
(ADD, ADHD, OCD, Bipolar, Depressed, and others). Mental Health
professionals and parents of children with disorders
speak. Local resources made available. Free. Held annually.

Educational Meetings |
The National Alliance on Mental
Illness (NAMI) of Polk County offers educational meetings free of
charge to the public. Guest speakers provide information to
those who are interested in mental illness and in helping those
who suffer. Monthly newsletters contain meeting information.
